4140 steel is a medium carbon alloy steel, also commonly known as AISI 4140 or SAE 4140. SAE4140 steel is one of the main materials used to produce seamless steel pipes. Here are some product details about 4140 steel tubing:

1.Raw material preparation
Select 4140 alloy steel billets that meet the requirements to ensure that their chemical composition and quality meet the standards.
2.Heating
Put the billet in a heating furnace for heating to reach a suitable rolling temperature, usually between 1100-1250 degree .

6.Heat treatment
The steel pipe is quenched and tempered to improve its mechanical properties and organizational structure. The quenching temperature is generally 840-880 degree , followed by tempering, and the tempering temperature is usually 540-680 degree .

Includes straightening, cutting heads and tails, and non-destructive testing (such as ultrasonic testing, eddy current testing, etc.) to ensure the straightness and internal defects of the steel pipe.
